So when my father passed away in June of this year (2011) and I was going through his CD collection and I came across the title Once Again by John Legend, I decided to use it as my driving anthem for the ride back home. Still in the back of my head was Saudia’s comparison of him with the real legend – Marvin Gaye. To my surprise, I immediately fell in love with the song P.D.A. (We Just Don’t Care), because the lyrics were a perfect fit to a situation that I was in at the time, but the longer I listened to the CD the more I found myself repeating the track right before it called Each Day Get’s Better.
It doesn’t take long for anyone who has prayerfully read the Psalms and The Song of Songs, while considering these lyrics, to place this song in the category of Divine love music. Every line from Each Day Get’s Better echos the sacred Scriptures, and, thereby, draws us into a deep contemplation of how Jesus continues to court us as His Bride, because He loves us like no other can or will.
Listen and read the lyrics, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. As far as mentioning John Legend in the same breath as Marvin Gaye, I never could win an argument with my old friend on her turf, but I will say she has an emerging valid argument here 😛 . . . Blessings and Shalom!

Where do we go, who knows?
But each day gets better, I just can’t let her go
Oh no… Each kiss gets sweeter… I just can’t leave her… oh noI’ll write a song… I’ve thought about it for far too long
But I’ve never had someone to sing about until I met her
Each day gets betterNobody knows, nobody sees, nobody understands me like she
Now that I know what true love means, I just hope she stays with meWhere do we go, who knows?
But each day gets better, I just can’t let her go
Oh no… Each kiss gets sweeter… I just can’t leave herShe wants to breathe,
She wants to be where the grass is green
She wants to know how love’s supposed to be
She wants it better,
I want to let her know she belongs right here with me
She’s heard it all but I’ll make her see
I’ll make her fall, make her believe
I’ll promise her that I’ll never leaveWhere do we go, who knows?
But each day gets better, I just can’t let her go
Oh no… Each kiss gets sweeter… I just can’t leave herI just had to write a song about her
Tell her I don’t wanna live without her
Tell her I would build my world around herDeeper and deeper, sweeter and sweeter
I’ll never leave her aloneWhere do we go, who knows?
But each day gets better, I just can’t let her go
Oh no… Each kiss gets sweeter… I just can’t leave her, no
(The Song of Songs 1:2)
“My love belongs to me and I to him; he browes among the lilies.”
